WHO:
Designed for sea kayakers seeking to develop their skills and confidence in dynamic, high-current environments. This class focuses on understanding and using tidal currents, building rough water boat control, and learning to play safely and efficiently in the Yellow Bluff tide race—one of the Bay’s most exciting training grounds.

Prerequisites:
Completion of L3 Coastal Kayak Skills Development (or equivalent), recent paddling experience, and comfort with wet exits, self-rescues, and assisted rescues.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
We’ll begin by interpreting current and tide data for San Francisco Bay, then apply this knowledge to our tide race environment.

We’ll head into the Yellow Bluff tide race for progressive skills training—eddy catching, ferry gliding, peel-outs, and (for those ready) rough water play in waves and fast-moving current. This is a supported, high-fun environment to push your limits and grow your confidence in moving water.

Cancellation Policy: Cancel at least two weeks in advance for a full refund. Cancellations within two weeks are non-refundable.
